Shakti Pilgrimage: Dates & Itinerary
Nov 16
Arrival in Delhi: Welcoming the Shakti
Arrive in Delhi and settle into the warm embrace of our pilgrimage circle. We’ll share a special opening dinner to set our intentions, followed by an evening visit to a vibrant handicraft bazaar to witness the living artistry of India’s devotion.
Nov 17–19
Jaipur: The Pink City & Rajasthan Bazaars
We’ll head to Jaipur, a city filled with history at every turn. We will spend time at the Amer Fort and the Wind Palace (Hawa Mahal), getting to know the local landmarks. You’ll also get a hands-on look at traditional Rajasthani block printing - a craft that has been passed down for generations and shows the artistry of the region.
Nov 19–20
Morena & Gwalior: Witnessing Rebuilt History
After leaving Jaipur, we journey toward the Morena Yogini temple, a powerful Shakti site nestled among rugged landscapes. From there, we visit the Bateswar group of monuments, an ancient complex of beautifully carved temples that offer a glimpse into India’s deep spiritual history. We then continue on to Gwalior, where you’ll stay in the heart of the city near shops and cafes, with time to rest, and integrate the blessings of the day.
Nov 20–22
Orchha: Forts, Betwa River & Cultural Night
Explore the majestic Orchha Fort and the surrounding riverside landscape. This is a time for deep contemplation on the ancient spiritual lineages. Of special note is that we were very blessed to have secured one of the only two female tour guides in Madhya Pradesh. On the evening of November 21, we’ll gather in the warmth of a local home for a special cultural evening, where you’ll be gently guided in how to wear and drape a sari and adorned with traditional mehndi designs.
Nov 22–24
Khajuraho: Yogini Temples & Sacred Eroticism
We drive to Khajuraho to experience the Western + Eastern Group of temple monuments. These structures are architectural marvels that showcase the intricate balance of earthly beauty and spiritual aspiration. Discover the stories carved in stone that have watched over centuries. We will also visit the local yogini temple there.
Nov 24–26
Jabalpur: Ancient Temples & the Narmada River
Journey to Jabalpur to visit the ancient Kalika temple in Tigwa and the Chausath Yogini site of Bhedaghat. This Yogini Temple is unique in that the figurines are still preserved and in place. Overlooking the Narmada, these sites offer a direct connection to the raw, transformative power of the Divine Mother.

Common Questions
Fitness Level
What to Pack
The pilgrimage involves moderate walking through ancient temple complexes and vibrant bazaars. A basic level of mobility is recommended to comfortably explore heritage sites and navigate uneven terrain.
We suggest modest, comfortable clothing suitable for sacred sites, a sturdy pair of walking shoes, a sun hat, and light layers. November evenings in North India can be cool, so a light shawl or sweater is essential.
November Weather
Safety & Health
November is one of the most pleasant times to visit. Expect clear blue skies and daytime temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C (68°F-82°F), cooling down significantly after sunset.
Your wellbeing is our priority. We travel in private air-conditioned vehicles with experienced drivers, stay in curated 4+ star hotels, and provide endless bottled water to ensure a safe and grounded experience throughout India.
What about food safety?
What are Indian toilets like?
We’ll be eating at carefully selected restaurants and hotels where food is freshly prepared and safe for visitors. We’ll guide you on what to enjoy freely and what to avoid (like certain raw foods, tap water, and street ice) so you can relax and savor the flavors of India.
In many of our hotels and main stops, you’ll find Western-style toilets, often with a bidet sprayer. In some temples and roadside areas, you may encounter squat toilets. We will do our best to let you know what to expect and plan rest stops with as much comfort and cleanliness as possible, so you can feel at ease throughout the journey.
